Our Mission
To cooperate with
the Government of Jamaica, the private sector, national,
regional and international institutions in order to
improve competitiveness and promote the sustainable
development of agriculture in Jamaica.
Our Goals
- To support better use and management of natural
resources, particularly hillside lands and watershed areas;
- To contribute to rural
development, food security, poverty alleviation and
social stability;
- To improve middle
management, technical capabilities and farmers skills;
- To foster agribusiness
development and private sector participation in
agriculture.
- To contribute to
effective dialogue and coordination between Public and Private Sectors
and Regional and International - Agencies in agriculture;
- To strengthen the
linkages between Jamaica's agriculture and that of the
wider Caribbean and Latin America;
- To support activities
which contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the
Jamaican agricultural sector.
